NASSAU, BAHAMAS – An Anatol Rodgers Junior High School student is in hospital tonight after he was stabbed multiples times during a lunch break. Concerned parents saying the school needs to beef up security measures.

The Anatol Rodgers High School was placed on lockdown this afternoon after the daily lunch break took a violent turn. According to Police Press Liaison Officer Chief Superintendent Chrislyn Skippings, the boy was stabbed multiple times with a sharp object.

Skippings says all the boys involved are between the ages of 14 and 15-years-old.

Despite the violent attack, Skippings says the school is safe with few incidents, adding that up to three officers are stationed on the campus. The superintendent doesn’t believe increased police presence is the answer. However, parents say they still have some safety concerns. Some parents saying they were not informed that a violent incident occurred on campus today.
