NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Meet Sergeant 2916 Trevor Cox who has been attached to the Royal Bahamas Police Force’s Traffic Division for 11 years.

The majority of those years he’s spent keeping traffic from coming to a standstill at the intersection that connects the Milo Butler and Tonique Williams Darling Highways.

His colourful, charismatic, and emphatic style of directing traffic is something thousands of motorists have witnessed, myslef included, and I’ve wanted to tell his story for a very long time.

On Tuesday morning, I got to meet the man behind the moves – this husband and father has never missed a day of work.

With the sun barely peeking from beyond the eastern skyline at 6:30 am, he arrived ready to work; his day beginning promptly at 7am.

His dedication to the job is backed by his love for helping people and the community he knows and loves.

That, glaringly obvious by the dozens of honks and shouts of praise he got as we were filming this interview.

But, what does it take to keep motorists in line every morning during rush-hour traffic? I had to find out.

Sgt. Cox says with 10 years on the job, drivers have come to understand his style.

And here’s a little advice if you’re a frequent driver in the area.

“Please be safe, take your time, dont rush, avoid accidents and please, avoid me,” Sgt. Cox said.

Sgt. Cox also shared several things he’s very thankful for. They include god keeping him healthy and safe over the last decade.
