The PLP’s Rally for Progress Takes Over Gladstone Road

NASSAU , BAHAMAS – It was a sea of blue and yellow on Monday night, as PLP supporters packed the Farmers Market site for a rally that featured candidates from the western and southern constituencies.

There was high energy, unique costumes, and musical performances.

Party candidates also continuing to make their case for becoming the next area MP, including two political newcomers.

Owen Wells – PLP Candidate, St. James

“St. James, choose the candidate rooted in this community, choose the candidate that breaks that cycle.”

Obbie Roberts – PLP Candidate, Southern Shores

“Southern Shores, you are safer with Brave and the PLP, because petty people with power are dangerous.”

Robyn Lynes – PLP Candidate, Killarney

“In eight days, choose a leadership team that has the capacity, the leadership, the knowledge, and the heart.”

Incumbent for Golden Isles, Darron Pickstock, who won the seat in last November’s by-election, telling supporters his work speaks for itself.

“Several roads have been paved, with more to come. Potholes are being filled. Over 600 fresh vegetable bags distributed in Golden Isles.”

Seasoned politicians Keith Bell, Pia Glover-Rolle, and Dr. Michael Darville are also seeking re-election.

When it comes to Election Day on May 12th, PLP Deputy Leader and Exumas and Ragged Island candidate Chester Cooper said that voters should expect a much smoother process than what played out at the advance polls.

“If you look at the advance poll and decide to stay home, let me tell you, you will wake up on May 13 and realize you’ve just handed your country back to the people who devastated it.”

Following Cooper’s comments, Prime Minister Philip Davis took to the stage, telling voters that both the Free National Movement and Coalition of Independents are unfit to lead the country.

“When Pintard, I listened to the exchange, you would’ve listened to the exchange between Pintard and Lincoln Bain. Pintard said the nastiest thing about him, and now he expects his voters, the COI voters, to vote for him. I wonder where his mind is.”
