US Coast Guard Transfers Nearly 1.4 Tons of Marijuana to Haiti Police

HAITI – The Haitian National Police has taken custody of nearly 1,376 kilograms of marijuana, valued at roughly $3.8 million, seized by the United States Coast Guard off Haiti’s northwestern coast, in one of the largest recent drug interceptions in the country.

The seizure addede to multiple drug busts conducted by police in recent weeks, pointing to a sustained flow of narcotics through Haitian territory even as enforcement efforts increase.

A Jamaican national was arrested during the operation.
