D.W. Davis, C.H. Reeves To Meet in GSSSA Jr. Finals

NASSAU, BAHAMAS – The GSSSA basketball season moved into their sudden death playoffs Thursday at the A.F. Adderley Gymnasium and the championship matchup in both divisions will feature the D.W. Davis royals against the C.H. Reeves Raptors.

NASSAU, BAHAMAS – The GSSSA basketball season moved into their sudden death playoffs Thursday at the A.F. Adderley Gymnasium and the championship matchup in both divisions will feature the D.W. Davis royals against the C.H. Reeves Raptors.

Let’s tell you how they got there.

In the junior boys division, the Royals defeated the A.F. Adderley Tigers 55-26.

Jevardo Wright led three Royals players in double figures with 23 points, Marc McCartney scored 12, and Ednel Pierre finished with 10.

In the other half of the bracket, the Raptors defeated the S.C. Mcpherson Sharks, 45-36.

Tristan Rahming led the Raptors with 22 points.

In the junior girls division, the defending champion Raptors returned as the top seed and defeated the Tigers, 36-23. 

Junior national team standout Tajhanique Morley outscored A.F. Adderley all on her own with a game high 28 points. 

In game two, the Royals defeated the number three seeded H.O. Nash Lions, 53-31.

Makia Bowles scored 16 of her game high 30 points in the first quarter and Kyasia Rolle scored 18.

The senior divisions take to the court tonight at the A.F. Adderley Gymnasium.

Golf

The top juniors golfers in the country will represent their schools in the chase for a national championship.

The 2025 National Inter School Golf Championships, Capital Union Bank, will be hosted March 10th-March 14th at the Baillou Hills Golf Course.

Approximately 400 students from both public and private schools are preparing to compete in the fifth edition of the event.

This year’s event will also feature further expansion into the Family Islands with students from Eleuthera and South Andros competing for the first time.

Taking a look back at the 2024 event, Windsor School swept all four high school divisions and the upper primary boys division. 

Home school won the upper primary girls division, St. Andrew’s won the lower primary boys, and Poitier Golf Home sShool won the lower primary girls division.

Boxing

The Bahamas gets into the celebrity boxing world this weekend – we’ve got everything from reality stars to models, to the son of a Bahamian icon.

Xrumble Celebrity Boxing will host the “Battle in The Bahamas” Saturday night at the Kendal Isaacs Gymnasium. 

The card will be headlined by the main event – real housewives of new jersey star Joe Guidice against Ojani Noa.

Kimbo Slice Jr defends his Xrumble World Championship against Hazel Roche.

The event get’s started at 8pm and will be live streamed on Triller TV.
