WSC Moving To Monthly Billing And Smart Meters

WSC Billing and Adjustment Manager Keira Carey explains the corporation’s modernization plan.

“ Moving to monthly billing is more than just about frequency, it’s about giving customers predictability and control,”

“Monthly bills help household[s]…prevent unexpected spikes and spot potential leaks earlier, [and] it also helps us build trust through [a] more consistent and…transparent process,” she says.

To accompany the monthly billing, WSC has allocated 16 million dollars for the implementation of smart meters.

Strategic Coordination Manager, Montgomery Miller says they’re bringing out 65,000 smart meters to replace the old mechanical models.

Miller says smart meters will make it easier for customers to track their usage, and for the corporation to detect leaks and read meters remotely without the need to enter yards.

As for family island residents Miller says,

“We traveled to Eleuthera just two weeks ago…and they were very pleased to know that the transition…[is taking] place…throughout the family islands as well.“
