Gordon Re-Signs With the Philadelphia 76ers

U.S.A. – Eric Gordon is officially back with the Philadelphia 76ers after re-signing on a one-year deal, bringing shooting depth, veteran leadership, and a critical connection to rookie VJ Edgecombe. 

The 36-year-old guard, who declined his player option to return on a smaller cap hit, averaged 6.8 points per game while shooting over 40 percent from three last season. 

Known for his clutch shooting stretches–including a red-hot January where he shot 52.6 percent from deep.

Beyond the stats, Gordon’s return strengthens team chemistry through his relationship with Edgecombe. 

The two developed a strong bond while representing The Bahamas on the national team during that run at the FIBA Olympic Qualifiers in Spain. 

Soccer

The Fundación Real Madrid Clinic is in The Bahamas this summer, giving student athletes a chance to train under the same philosophy that has produced some of the world’s greatest players.

Hosted at King’s College , the official clinic runs from June 30 to July 11, with two separate one-week sessions for youth players ages 7 through 18. 

Conducted by professional coaches from the Real Madrid Foundation, participants will be immersed in the “real way” methodology–a system that focuses not just on technical skills, but on character development, teamwork, and discipline. 

Just 20 spots are available per age group each week.

For local talent, this is more than just a camp–it’s a chance to experience elite-level training in their own backyard, under the badge of a global football powerhouse.

Golf

Team Bahamas is competing this week at the 2025 Caribbean Amateur Golf Championships in Barbados.

The men’s squad is led by men’s national champion and BGF President Lynford Miller, Richard Gibson Jr, Alex Dupuch, Nolan Johnson, and Alexander Roland. 

The women’s team is captained by 14-year-old Maddison Carroll, a repeat national champion, alongside fellow teen standout Haley Hall, Marinda Tucker, and Chamari Pratt. 

The Bahamas finished fourth last year in Trinidad and Tobago.

This year’s team is coached by Richard Gibson Sr. and includes a cross section of teenage sensations and veterans.

After a practice round on Tuesday, the team teed off in the opening rounds this afternoon.
