Prosecutors say Cleophus Smith and another tried to bump off Leonard Symonette.
He was working on a car through Peter Street when gunmen emerged from a black car and shot him, sending him to hospital with a shattered femur.
Smith, who’s on remand, has denied the charge at his trial before Justice Renae McKay.
