UNITED STATES – U.S. President Donald Trump says the United States carried out a strike on a dock area he claims was used to load drug-smuggling boats in Venezuela.

Trump described a major explosion but provided no specific location or details. Venezuela’s government has not yet responded.

CNN and The New York Times report, citing sources, that the blast may have been caused by a CIA drone strike. If confirmed, it would mark the first known U.S. operation inside Venezuela.

The White House and Pentagon have not confirmed the operation, and no images have been released, unlike previous U.S. strikes targeting alleged drug boats.
