UNITED NATIONS – The United Nations Security Council has unanimously renewed the mandate of its Haiti mission – extending the U.N. Integrated Office in Haiti through January 2027.

The recent resolution, backed by the U.S. and Panama, refocuses the mission on election support, human rights and curbing gang violence.

U.S. officials called it a decisive step toward stability, as Haiti continues to grapple with widespread insecurity and a deepening humanitarian crisis.
