GRAND BAHAMA , BAHAMAS – While residents across New Providence prepare to head to the advanced polls on Thursday, residents in the nation’s second city are also gearing up to make their voices heard in the 2026 general election.

Our Jameelha is on the ground and she spoke to some residents who said that they’re hoping to see greater results the next time around.

Many Grand Bahama voters said that there needs to be greater representation on the island.

While some residents remain undecided on who they’ll vote for, others said that the choice is clear.

Before heading to the polls, they believe there are some longstanding issues that must be addressed.

This time around, they’re hoping that Grand Bahama is a top priority on the government’s agenda.

Healthcare on the island is also a major concern.

Then there are voters like Steve Dean, who said that even seven years later, the impacts of Hurricane Dorian can still be felt on the island.

He believes there should have been more of an economic rebound.
