UNITED STATES – Bahamian sprinter Javonya Valcourt closed out her collegiate career in style with two bronze medals at the NCAA Division I Outdoor Track and Field Championships in Eugene, Oregon.

The University of Tennessee senior finished third in the women’s 400 meters in a new personal best of 50.16 seconds, the second-fastest time in program history.

Less than an hour later, Valcourt returned to anchor Tennessee’s 4×400-meter relay team to another bronze medal, including a blazing 49.48-second split.

In the field, Arizona Wildcats freshman Anton Smith received second team all-American honors in the triple jump at 15.99m, 11th overall.

BGF Names 14-member Team Headed to Cajgc

The Bahamas Golf Federation has named a 14-member junior national team for the 2026 Caribbean Amateur Junior Golf Championships in the Dominican Republic.

Team Bahamas, coming off a third-place finish at the last championships, will feature Aidan Gorospe, Kerrington Rolle and Luke Grimes in the boys 18U Division, with Maddison Carroll and Chemari Pratt representing the girls.

The 15U team includes Na’kai Wilson, Rashawn Hanna, William Mahelis, Haley Hall and Anissa Robinson, while Archie Michelmore, Connor Stevenson, Zion Poitier and Zaire Poitier will compete in the 13U Division.

Head Coach Keno Turnquest will lead the team in Puerto Plata from June 28 to July 3.

Bahamians Continue Productivity at the Plate

The Bahamian bats are heating up across the minor leagues. From triple-A to double-A, Bahamian players are making their presence known.

Arizona Diamondbacks prospect Kristian Robinson is putting together a hot stretch with the Reno Aces, picking up five hits over his last two games as he continues his journey toward the big leagues.

He hit is sixth home run of the season earlier this week against the Salt Lake Bees.

Miami Marlins Prospect Ian Lewis continues to show his development in his first double-A campaign with the Pensacola Blue Wahoos, blasting his sixth home run of the season to match his career best while taking another step forward in the Marlins system.

Meanwhile Chicago Cubs prospect BJ Murray came through in a big way for the Iowa Cubs, finishing two-for-three with a double, a triple, three RBI and a walk as his bat helped spark a comeback win against Lousville.
