NASSAU , BAHAMAS – July 1 marks the formal beginning of a new financial year for Cable Bahamas Group of Companies.

Dubbed FY2026/27, the new financial year runs from July 1, 2026, through June 30, 2027, with several initiatives planned both internally and externally.

Cable Bahamas Group President and CEO Franklyn Butler says one of the company’s top priorities is transitioning customers from the REV hybrid fiber-coaxial network to ALIV Fibr.

“Most HFC customers probably have 30 megabits download and probably 10 upload. When you migrate to ALIV Fibr, at a minimum you’ll probably have 250 megabits download and 100 upload.”

He says the upgrade will allow customers to download and stream more content while improving the performance of connected devices, including smart home technology such as Ring cameras.

However, the rollout will only take place on select islands during this financial year.

“We are not going to do all islands of The Bahamas, but we are going to be focused on those main territories, particularly Abaco and New Providence, in this financial year, and then planning how we get Grand Bahama, as our secondary market, completed from the ALIV Fibr perspective.”

Beyond digital connectivity, the company says community development remains a key priority.

In recent years, Cable Bahamas has hosted signature events such as InspireHer, supported Junkanoo and relaunched the Cable Cares Foundation.

Butler says the company has also committed $1 million toward community investments.

“In addition to that, we are always in the community partnering. We have community walkabouts, partnerships with Hands for Hunger and schools across the length and breadth of The Bahamas where we are actively involved. We want you to continue to look out for us because not only are we connecting you to more capacity, we are giving our best and our time to connect with the communities that really matter, because nobody knows The Bahamas better than a Cable Bahamian.”
