Man Mauled To Death By Dogs

NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the discovery of the body of a man on Palm Tree Avenue, just off of East Street, sometime around 4AM this morning. According to Police Press Liason, Chief Supt. Chrislyn Skippings, the body had sustained significant injuries to the lower extremities.

She notes that school begins on Monday morning and police will not tolerate any incidents involving children and unsecured animals.

And, to pet owners nationwide, Chief Superintendent Skippings has this warning, “If you have dogs, your dogs should be licensed. Your yard should also be enclosed.”

Chief Supt. Skippings adding that the animal control unit has removed six dogs from a yard near where the body was found.

The victim was not identified, however, Skippings says he is believed to be in his late 50s or early 60s.
