Judges Agrees to Hear the Appeal of Accused Hitman
NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Prosecutors alleged that Anthony Clarke was paid $5,000 to bump off Aleus Tilus, who allegedly had a pending dispute with his boss at the Labour Board.
NASSAU, BAHAMAS – The Privy Council has agreed to hear the appeal of an accused hitman.
Prosecutors alleged that Anthony Clarke was paid $5,000 to bump off Aleus Tilus, who allegedly had a pending dispute with his boss at the Labour Board.
He was found dead with multiple gunshot wounds at Nirvana Beach on September 16, 2011.
The prosecution’s case rested on Clarke’s alleged confessions that he said were not made voluntarily at his trial.
Clarke was initially sentenced to death following his murder conviction in 2013.
He was re-sentenced to 35 years in prison after the Court of Appeal quashed his sentence while upholding the conviction.
