Mom And Son Fined After Gardener Bitten By Dog

NASSAU, BAHAMAS – A gardener was attacked by a pit bull while working.

Marvin Neely was working for Ricardo ferguson and his mother, Shevia Ferguson when he was bitten by their three-year-old dog at their Flax Terrace home.

Ricardo Ferguson pleaded guilty to causing harm by animal and having an unlicensed dog, while his mother pleaded guilty to having an unlicensed dog.

Assistant Chief Magistrate Kara Turnquest-Deveaux ordered the dog euthanized and fined Mr. Ferguson $1,500.

If the fine isn’t paid, he will spend six months in prison.

He will spend another six months behind bars if Neely isn’t paid $1,500.

Ms. Ferguson was fined $500 or six months in prison for failing to license the dog.
