NASSAU, BAHAMAS – It was a bloody weekend in New Providence, as police are investigating four murders over the past three days.

Percy Sawyer – the father of the country’s latest murder victim, 42-year-old Patrice Sawyer, says it was early this morning when he was awaken by two gunshots.

He says when he came outside he met his daughter’s lifeless body on the ground with two gunshots – one to the head and one to her back. The father saying it was a phone call that alerted her to come outside.

Sawyer says he did not know of his daughter to have any issues.

Patrice Sawyer’s untimely death is the fourth murder in the capital over the course of three days. On Sunday, a man and a woman were killed at Lightbourne Avenue, Rock Crusher.

The male victim was on bail for murder and being electronically monitored. Chief Superintendent Michael Johnson picks up the details from there.

On Saturday, another man was murdered at Sixth Street and Poinciana Avenue. He was also being electronically monitored for a homicide.
