EGYPT – Prime Minister Phillip Davis unveiling the country’s plans for blue carbon credit at COP 27 in Egypt.

The PM says it’s a part of the country’s efforts to reduce the impact of climate change.

Davis tabled the Climate Change and Carbon Market Initiatives Bill in April and it passed in July.

It establishes the legislative framework required for The Bahamas to benefit from the trading of carbon credits.

The prime minister told world leaders that The Bahamas’ approach to climate change should be the standard.
