Ground Broken for New Solar Power Plant
GRAND BAHAMA, BAHAMAS – An official groundbreaking ceremony was held for the country’s first utility-scale solar power plant.
GRAND BAHAMA, BAHAMAS – An official groundbreaking ceremony was held for the country’s first utility-scale solar power plant. Principals in the historic project holding a signing ceremony for the license agreement and the power purchase agreement.
It is a majority Bahamian owned development that is expected to translate into savings for the Grand Bahama Power Company and by extension, all Grand Bahamians.
President of the Grand Bahama Port Authority, Ian Rolle, noted the new initiative reduces the carbon footprint and heavy reliance on fuel for power generation.
He says it also breaks ground in gender equality.
The project is expected to completed in 9 to 10 months.
