NASSAU, BAHAMAS – The annual face-off between the Police and Defence Force Bands did not disappoint Sunday as hundreds of Bahamians braved the elements to witness the special 50th-Anniversary Beat Retreat in Rawson Square.
The Royal Bahamas Defence Force Band was first up as they stormed the square with military precision.
The police force came behind them and would not be left out, presenting a marathon performance narrated by Claudette Allen.
Deputy Commodore Captain Shondel Pinder says it was a preview of the upcoming tattoo.
Chairperson of The National Independence Secretariat Leslia Miller-Brice says she was pleased with the day’s turnout and reminds the public of a week’s worth of events featuring pop-ups in Pompey Square and climaxing with a ball and concert ahead of the big show on Sunday.
