GRAND BAHAMA, BAHAMAS – Making it to the Sweet 16 in college basketball on both the men’s and women’s side is an awesome feat.

Many coaches never get to experience that but our very own coach Yolett McCuin accomplished that this year.

Head Coach of Ole Miss University’s Women’s Basketball program, McCuin went into her last season not thinking her team would accomplish a lot.

Coach Yo, as she is affectionately called, however managed to take team 48 all the way to the Sweet 16 beating powerhouse, Standford University, along the way.

After making it to the Sweet 16, Coach Yo told ESPN that she was just a girl from The Bahamas with a dollar and a dream – an interview that went viral.

Coach Yo is in town for a few days. She held a free basketball clinic in Grand Bahama over the weekend and will be honored by Toastmasters International on Friday.
