NASSAU, BAHAMAS – For decades, residents in New Providence have been calling for better roads.

Civil Engineer in the Ministry of Works Francis Clarke says New Providence has 890 miles of roadways and 85 percent of the existing roads do not meet 21st-century standards.

It’s an issue that’s not lost on works officials. Clarke sharing some of the progress they’ve made recently.

As for what’s needed going forward: civilized road and to preserve the pavement as much as possible.

He says he recently wrote a report to the minister.
