GRAND BAHAMA, BAHAMAS – While voter registration is a continual process, eligible voters in the West Grand Bahama and Bimini District have begun ensuring that their voice matters in the upcoming bi-election.

A bi-election awaits following the death of the current member of parliament Obie Wilchcombe who passed away on the morning of September 25th, leaving that seat vacant.

But who is eligible to vote? Administrator for the West Grand Bahama District Leonard Dames explains.

And if you meet those requirements, here’s what you’ll need to bring.

Now while no official date has been set for the by-election, dames says since Monday there’s been an influx of persons registering to vote including first-time voters, transfers, and replacement cards for those on the current register.

Now registration hours are Monday through Friday between 9am and 4pm, and then again at 5pm to 9pm; on Saturday at 10am to 6pm and on Sunday 2pm to 6pm.
