MP Kirk Cornish Pleads Not Guilty in Supreme Court

NASSAU, BAHAMAS – North Abaco Member of Parliament Kirk Cornish was back in the Supreme Court where he pleaded not guilty to charges of rape, assault and threats of death.

NASSAU, BAHAMAS – North Abaco Member of Parliament Kirk Cornish was back in the Supreme Court where he pleaded not guilty to charges of rape, assault and threats of death.
Cornish appeared before Justice Cheryl Grant-Thompson.


Last month, he received a voluntary bill of indictment papers, which formally ended proceedings against him in the magistrate’s court and committed him to stand trial in the Supreme Court.


After resigning his post as parliamentary secretary, the 48-year-old was formally charged when he appeared before acting Chief Magistrate Roberto Reckley on August 9.


The crimes allegedly took place in Cooper’s Town, Abaco, and in New Providence between January 20, 2023 and April 4, 2023.


The case was adjourned to November 16.
