Police Arrange Gang Leaders Meet Up
NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Amid a spike in homicides, officers from the Royal Bahamas Police Force and a team from the Bahamas Christian Council met with gang factions over the weekend.
NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Amid a spike in homicides, officers from the Royal Bahamas Police Force and a team from the Bahamas Christian Council met with gang factions over the weekend.
Fernander says this happened at the Criminal Investigation Department.
Fernander says they asked the reason for the recent killings but got no answer from the gang members.
It came as Free National Movement Leader Michael Pintard said the government should have a conclave with gang leaders to figure out how to stop the bloodshed in the country.
He said many parliamentarians know the leaders and those who wield influence over several people who are wreaking havoc.
Despite not getting any answers, Fernander made this commitment.
Over the weekend, Prime Minister Philip Davis sent a stern warning to criminals that the government’s stance against crime is resolute.
Meanwhile, the police commissioner says they will also reach out to parents.
To the criminals, Fernander said it’s time for action.
