NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Another round of extreme weather is expected to move across the central and eastern U.S. this week.

It’s been reported that at least 40 people have died across nine states since January 12 due to the mega storm.

The heavy rain and snow have also knocked out power to almost one hundred thousand homes and businesses in some states.

Well here at home, operations at the Lynden Pindling International Airport appeared to be moving smoothly. Our News speaking with this visitor who traveled to Nassau from New York.

According to forecasters another round of snow and cold is expected at the end of this week, some of the cities expected to be impacted include Washington, Buffalo, New York City and Nashville.

Bridgette Smith is visiting from Alabama and says her flight was not impacted but she is worried about the weather at home.

Emily Britt is from Texas. She says it was 27 degrees Fahrenheit when she left home this morning but she had a smooth flight.

Also spoke with the Vice President of Marketing and Commercial Development at the Nassau Airport Development Company Jan Knowles about the wild weather and she says thankfully, not much flights have been impacted at LPIA.

Knowles encourages travelers to stay in contact with your airline as there may be flight cancelations due to the weather this week.
