NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Construction will begin soon on a new community center in Bain and Grants Town following a groundbreaking ceremony, Wednesday. One Cabinet Minister is hopeful that it will spark more love in the community.



Minister of Education and Technical and Vocational Training, Glenys Hanna Martin, is issuing a challenge to actively step up to redirect, reshape and transform the lives in those less fortunate. She’s calling for a “Pandemic of love” nationally, to reach as many young people as possible.

Member of Parliament for Bain and Grants Town, Wayde Watson emphaszing that sometimes, it simply takes the right opportunity or initiative to make a lifelong impact.

Executive Director at Lend a Hand Bahamas Mitsyann Burrows says the organization has grown from 32 students to 146 children and 38 adults.

According to Lend a Hand Bahamas Chairman Lucas Metropulos, the original building across the street was officially opened two years ago and now, the group is hoping to have this new center completed by the fall 2022.
