NASSAU, BAHAMAS – On May 1st, a new fare was introduced for bus drivers in New Providence and Grand Bahama however, some bus drivers expressed their displeasure as they believe the 25 cents hike was not enough.
NASSAU, BAHAMAS – The last increase for bus drivers was in 2008, some 16 years ago.
On May 1st, a new fare was introduced for bus drivers in New Providence and Grand Bahama however, some bus drivers expressed their displeasure as they believe the 25 cents hike was not enough.
While breaking down the steps to achieve this figure, Minister of Energy and Transport, JoBeth Coleby-Davis says it’s still an achievement.
She also addressed concerns about the rising cost of living.
As it relates to a gazetted bus stop on East Street, just opposite the future site of the U.S. Embassy, being utilized for private parking and storage, Coleby-Davis says she, along with three colleague ministers, are working to address the issue.
