New Study Finds Earth Warming At Record Rate

WORLDWIDE – In 2023, Earth’s warming rate hit an all-time high, with 92% of last year’s record-breaking heat attributed to human activity, according to top scientists.

A group of 57 international researchers used un-approved methods to investigate the causes of last year’s extreme temperatures, concluding that increased fossil fuel use is the primary driver.

The study revealed that 2023 was 1.43 degrees celsius warmer than the pre-industrial average, with 1.31 degrees attributed to human activity. The remaining warming was mostly due to El Niño and other natural factors.

Experts warn that continued fossil fuel use will push earth past the 1.5 degrees celsius warming threshold within 4.5 years. Crossing this limit could lead to severe ecological disruptions and extreme weather events.
