NHC: Tropical Storm Expected To Develop By Weekend

The US National Hurricane Center, NHC, has upgraded its forecast, predicting a tropical wave will become the second named storm of the 2024 hurricane season this weekend.

CABO VERDE ISLANDS – The US National Hurricane Center, NHC, has upgraded its forecast, predicting a tropical wave will become the second named storm of the 2024 hurricane season this weekend.

Located several hundred miles west-southwest of the Cabo Verde Islands, the tropical wave now has a 70% chance of developing into a tropical depression or storm.

The NHC said environmental conditions are conducive for development. If named, the storm will be called Beryl.
