CANADA – As Donald Trump reiterates he’s ready to deport millions of people illegally in the U.S., the Canadian police say they are preparing for an influx of asylum seekers in the wake of the election.

The former and now future U.S. President swept to power this week in part on a promise to enact the largest deportation in American history.

Canadian police have been preparing for months, according to a Royal Canadian mounted police spokesperson.

When Trump first came to power in 2017, thousands of asylum-seekers crossed into Canada between formal border.
