UNITED STATES – Shipping traffic is slowing at the Port of Oakland following President Trump’s new tariff moves.

According to officials, “blank sailings” — when ships skip ports — are on the rise. With nearly three-quarters of Oakland’s trade tied to Asia, leaders are bracing for impact but say they’re focused on keeping trade moving.

It’s a trend seen nationwide, as the Port of Los Angeles also warns of a 35% drop in Asian cargo next week.
