NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Amid speculation Youth, Sports, and Culture Minister Mario Bowleg answered the question that had many Bahamians on the edge of their seats, Junkanoo will still proceed as planned.

This past week saw a contentious standoff between the government and the JCNP after they released a statement looking to postpone Junknaoo due to alleged political interference.

The issue stemmed from the ongoing split in the Valley Boys Junkanoo group that has not spilled into the wider Junkanoo community.

The ministry of youth sports and culture and JCNP decided that the Way Forward Valley Boys led by Trevor Davis will rush as a non-competitive group.

The culture minister said the original order entry will be observed. He also made it clear that no faction of the Valley Boys received seed money.

JCNP Chairman Dion Miller telling us they met with the way forward valley boys to ensure their level of participation in the parades.
