NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Bahamas Union of Teachers President, Belinda Wilson says there needs to be transparency when it comes to the state of school repairs.

Speaking at a Rotary Club meeting on Thursday, she says while schools have opened on time, some work has not been completed.

Education Minister Glenys Hanna-Martin responded saying the repairs aren’t impacting operations at those schools.

Hanna-Martin says while those projects are underway, other family island schools have been opened.

The education minister also says the back and forth on the issue publicly has been well-exhausted adding that 160 schools are opened, the focus now should be the education of students.
