UNITED STATES – Coming off a blowout Game Two that saw Butler get knocked out with a hip contusion after a nasty fall, Buddy stepped up in his absence, dropping 17 points on 6-of-13 shooting and making 5-of-11 threes. He also had 2 rebounds, 2 assists, and 3 steals.

The legend Steph Curry led the way for the Dubs with 36 points, 7 rebounds, and 9 assists.

Fred VanVleet led the way for the Rockets with 17 points, and Alperen Sengun had 15 points and 11 rebounds.

That was a great win for the Dubs. Jimmy Butler will try to come back tomorrow and put the Rockets in a 3–1 hole.

We’re going to keep things on the hardwood, where our new national champs were crowned.

Champs Crowned
The Giants swept the National Round Robin Tournament, taking both divisions.

The Y-E-S Giants took down the Abaco Net Riders 94–75 to claim the Division II title. Kirk Farrington led the way with 22 points and 7 assists. Javon Adderley had 21 points and pounded the glass to the tune of 14 rebounds.

Juvens Locious had 22 points, 6 rebounds, and 6 assists for the Net Riders.

The Giants completed the sweep, taking the Division I title by squeaking by the Dudley Boyz Saints out of Grand Bahama, 83–80. Dylan Musgrove had 29 points and 8 rebounds in that one.

Davonte Jennings had 16 points and 9 rebounds for the Saints.

In the Division II third-place game, the Harbour Island Panthers blew out the Andros Antec Saints 105–71. Jeremy Davis had 27 points in that one for the Panthers.

Baseball
Coach Antoan Richardson and the New York Mets rebounded from Friday’s loss with a 2–0 win over the Washington Nationals. Francisco Alvarez did the heavy lifting, driving in both RBIs on a 2-run home run.

Jazz Chisholm and the Yankees’ game against the Toronto Blue Jays was postponed because of bad weather. They made it up in a doubleheader today.

Down in the minors, Rangers top prospect Sebastian Walcott went 1-for-3 with a single as his Frisco RoughRiders fell 5–1 to the Corpus Christi Hooks.

Cubs prospect BJ Murray went 1-for-4 with a double as his Knoxville Smokies fell 6–3 to the Pensacola Blue Wahoos.
