Nassau Cruise Port ended 2021 on a high note, according to CEO Matt Maura.

As we begin 2022, the Maura says bookings have already surpassed 2019.

During the holidays, Nassau Cruise Port saw four and sometimes five ships docked at a time- a tell tale sign of the major rebound following the industry’s shutdown during the pandemic.

Maura says the pent up demand for people to travel and take cruises has led thousands to book their trips with itineraries that include the Bahamas for the next two years.

Despite the country being in a fourth wave of covid cases and the global spread of the Omicron Covid-19 variant, Maura says he sees the cruise industry doing just fine.

Work continues on a world class cruise port, which is expected to be completed by the end of this year.
