DOMINICAN REPUBLIC – Dominican Republic has officially received the presidency of the Summit of the Americas from the United States.

Dominican Foreign Minister Roberto Álvarez received the chairmanship of the Hemispheric Summit from U.S. Assistant Secretary of State Brian Nichols at a special handing-over ceremony in Washington, D.C. yesterday.

Álvarez reiterated the DR’s commitment to organising an inclusive and effective summit that covers every issue affecting the hemisphere.
