NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Prime Minister Philip Davis meeting with United States Congresswoman Frederica Wilson Friday afternoon, as women commemorate the 60th anniversary of women’s suffrage.

Davis using the courtesy call to reflect on Wednesday’s joint session of Parliament where female Members of Parliament and senators celebrated the suffrage movement.

The prime minister was joined by women parliamentarians and women from the Progressive Liberal Party.

Former Deputy Prime Minister Cynthia Mother Pratt also attended the meeting.

Wilson, who has Bahamian roots, will be attending a gala on Saturday in honor of Ruby Ann Darling, the first Bahamian woman to register to vote.
