ISRAEL – Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s willingness to agree only to a partial cease-fire in Gaza casts doubt on a U.S.-backed peace proposal.

Netanyahu stated on Israeli channel 14 Sunday, that he would accept a deal to release some hostages but insists on continuing the war to eliminate Hamas.

His comments sparked outrage from the families of hostages held by Hamas.

The U.S. plan involves a full cease-fire and the release of all hostages, but Netanyahu remains committed to ongoing military action.

Hamas insists on a permanent cease-fire and Israeli withdrawal from Gaza, further complicating negotiations.
