Locksmith Sentenced to 5 Years for Drug and Firearm Trading

A 30-year-old locksmith has been jailed for five years for trading in drugs and firearms.

NASSAU, BAHAMAS – A 30-year-old locksmith has been jailed for five years for trading in drugs and firearms.

Kyle Carter was busted with 15 firearms, 565 rounds of ammunition, assorted magazines, 157 pounds of hydroponic marijuana, marijuana gummies and THC vape pens on May 15.

Police on traffic duties stopped Carter for driving a black Mr Lock van erratically.

After searching the vehicle, they found a small amount of marijuana, leading police to get a warrant to search his home off Sandilands Village Road.

The officers uncovered a haul of firearms, ammunition and drugs in  the home he shares with his 60-year-old mother Cheryl Key.

Carter pleaded guilty to possession of firearms with intent to supply, possession of ammunition with intent to supply, possession of drugs with intent to supply, possession of component parts of firearms at his arraignment before Chief Magistrate Roberto Reckley.

His mother pleaded not guilty and her bail was set at $9,500.She returns to court on June 18.
