NASSAU, BAHAMAS – A 28-year-old man learned his fate today for a crime he committed as a minor.

Senior Justice Cheryl Grant-Thompson sentenced the convict, identified by his initials JJ, to three years in prison for the indecent assault of his nine-year-old cousin.

He was found guilty of humping the girl while she slept with her five-year-old sister.

The complainant woke up and saw JJ leaving the room.

The incident allegedly took place in New Providence on April 27, 2014 when the convict was 16.

The case is the country’s first criminal trial to be heard without a jury.
