NASSAU, BAHAMAS – A Rastafarian inmate has taken his fight to keep his dreadlocks to the Court of Appeal.

Jahmal Daniels is serving a six-year prison sentence after pleading guilty to unlawful sexual intercourse.

Following his conviction, Daniels filed a constitutional motion seeking to keep his dreadlocks as a part of his Rastafarian faith.

The motion was dismissed. However, the Court of Appeal has forbidden authorities from shaving Daniels’ hair until an appeal is heard and determined.
