NASSAU, BAHAMAS – The family of the woman who filed a complaint with police against a sitting PLP Member of Parliament is now seeking legal action after the victim alleges she was raped, choked, and the lives of her and her family threatened.

Their identities are hidden to keep them safe.

It’s an ordeal they described as something you see on TV, but never thought would happen in real life.

The mother of the woman who filed a complaint against a sitting PLP MP claims it has caused sleepless nights not just for her daughter, but for herself.

The victim filed the complaint in Grand Bahama on April 7th but before things got to that point she claims she sought refuge with her aunt.

She corroborates a story given by the victim which appears in the Tribune newspaper of the alleged abuse.

But she alleges the abuse didn’t end there; she also alleges the MP threatened her with a knife just two weeks ago.

Two weeks later, she claims something else happened.

She recounted another portion of the story the victim also alleges in the Tribune newspaper.

Her aunt says she was the one who took her niece to file the complaint. She says her niece isn’t sleeping, or eating and is constantly looking over her shoulders, in fear for her life.
