SAN SALVADOR, BAHAMAS – On the southern island of San Salvador, the local administrator Francis Barr is responsible for managing and meeting the needs and concerns of residents.

Barr says one of the main accomplishments this year has been the reopening of Club Med.

But there are issues, one of them is getting supplies.

Earlier this week we visited the local high school. It has 15 faculty members. Barr says while they’re doing a good job, more help is needed.

Then there’s the concern about local fishermen and dive operators who want to operate in waters the Bahamas National Trust is seeking to protect as a part of the national parks system.

Barr says stakeholders are coming together to formulate a solution.
