Novavax Says COVID-19 Shot On Track for Full FDA Approval

UNITED STATES – Novavax says its COVID-19 vaccine is on track for a full Food and Drug administration gold-standard approval after new talks with the agency.

The talks sent its stock up over 21% Wednesday morning.

The protein-based shot, which is the only of its kind in the U.S., is currently under emergency use.

The FDA recently asked Novavax for a plan to gather more clinical data as the company says it’s moving quickly to meet the agency’s requirements.

Concerns about political interference had delayed the decision, but full approval would allow Novavax to keep its vaccine on the market indefinitely.
