NASSAU, BAHAMAS – There have been a number of police involved shootings in recent times, and the cry of the public is, release the footage. The Minister of National Security explaining when and why footage is often withheld from the public.

Minister of National Security, Wayne Munroe, addressing police-involved shootings and the public’s call for the release of body cam footage. Munroe explains that this is generally not the policy of the police force. He says the public should understand that police face a tough job.

Munroe adds that oftentimes, persons make false claims. However, there is always a camera around that could expose the truth, whether CCTV, body cam footage, or private citizen video.
