LGBTQ+ Advocate: “I Deserve to Exist”

NASSAU, BAHAMAS – An LGBTQ+ advocate who went viral after questioning the Prime Minister during a National Development Plan lecture earlier this week, is speaking out, saying they deserve to be protected from discrimination.

Our Marlena Leonard sat down exclusively with Natino Thompson.

It was the statement and question heard around the country racking up thousands of views and shares on social media.

What you may not have been able to hear in those videos was the reaction in the room toward Thompson’s question.

Thompson is an accomplished scholar, with degrees in history and psychology from the University of The Bahamas.

His paper titled, Heterosexism & Homosexuality: The Performance of Privilege in Bahamian Society, was featured in the Yale Review of International Studies.
