“Abaco’s Story Is Not One of Defeat, But of Resiliency, Unity & Strength”
ABACO, BAHAMAS – The construction phase of Abaco’s anticipated hurricane shelter has been completed. A ceremony was held Thursday at the newly built facility in Central Pines, Marsh Harbour, where according to Minister of State responsible for Disaster Risk Management, Leon Lundy phase two (furbishing) is underway. The shelter is expected to accommodate 600 persons, and withstand category 5 hurricane conditions.
