NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Excitement was the order of the day in Golden Isles as Progressive Liberal Party candidate Darron Pickstock and his campaign team kicked off the advanced polling morning with high energy and even higher confidence.

Pickstock arrived to the sound of cheers, cowbells and creative chants as supporters crowded around him outside the Remnant Tabernacle Church polling station, where 283 voters were eligible to cast early ballots.

The atmosphere felt more like a celebration than a political event, setting the tone for what Pickstock believes will be a successful run.

In an interview, he told Our News he is feeling encouraged and optimistic about the road ahead, saying he believes he is connecting well with residents and is ready to carry the torch for the constituency.

Party members leaned into the moment with original chants aimed at their opponents, including playful jabs at the Coalition of Independents and the Free National Movement. COI leader Lincoln Bain and FNM Chairman Dr. Duane Sands took the teasing in stride, laughing off the musical taunts.

From the popular “stinkin Lincoln” line to spirited warnings of “go back,” the PLP supporters kept the entertainment flowing while still driving home their core message about unity, leadership and momentum.

With nearly eight thousand registered voters in Golden Isles and the official by election set for next week, Pickstock is urging residents to make their voices heard.

He says voting is more than a civic duty. It is a chance to shape the future of their community, and he wants every eligible voter to show up and participate.

As the advanced polls continue, Pickstock says he remains focused on meeting residents where they are, listening to their concerns and proving that he is ready to lead.
