EXUMA, BAHAMAS – The island of Exuma continuing to recover following a massive oil spill just 21 days ago. The area Member of Parliament, Chester Cooper, on island for Exuma’s Regatta and Homecoming Festival, spoke to our Megan Shepherd with an update on the clean up of that spill.

The crystal-clear waters of Exuma marred by a major oil spill on July 10th. Member of Parliament for Exuma and Minister of Tourism, Chester Cooper, calling that oil spill a set of tragic circumstances that could’ve been worse. Some days later and the area MP gave this update.

He says that this type of situations cannot continue to happen.

Noting The Bahamas is made up of vast amounts of land and ocean, he says every Bahamian must do their part in protecting the country’s resources.
